199 Diesel (also labelled as D199 Diesel) is a rude blue diesel engine from the Other Railway.

199 thinks he's so good - much more reliable than all the steam engines. But he broke down 1 day and his nickname quickly changed from "Old Reliable" to "Spamcan". Everyone was rather pleased when he was sent back from the Island of Sodor to the Other Railway.

Historical Note[]

"199" is 1 of the Class 44 to 46 Diesels, used mainly on the routes from St. Pancras to Leicester, Derby, Sheffield, Leeds and Carlisle. They have now been replaced by High Speed Trains.

Trivia[]

  • His prototype model has a black cab, is longer, and has a flatter face compared to the final release. The prototype is now owned by ThomasTankMerch of Twitter.
  • His coupling is merged into his face.
  • He is the 1st character exclusively from the Railway Series to be released.
  • His model would later be recycled for Diesel 10.
